Atlantic Cod Loin with Skin - 300g is an excellent choice for fish lovers. This thick cod fillet, also known as "fish tenderloin," offers tender white meat without bones, which is especially appreciated by children. Cod is rich in vitamins A and D and complete proteins, making it an ideal part of a healthy diet.

Our cod comes from certified producers who fish in a gentle and responsible manner. They set sail every morning, using longlines with hooks, and return to port in the afternoon. The fish are processed almost immediately and shipped for further transport to maintain their freshness.

Following the correct technological process, freezing is a completely gentle and safe method of food preservation. Wild-Caught Fish

The protection of (not only) marine life is important to us, which is why we prioritise sustainable fishing in our production. The fish you find on offer are therefore caught wild by boats that go out to sea in the morning and fish using hooks and lines. These are not boats with large seine nets that decimate all life. Wild fishing is gentle on the fish, sparing it stress before being killed.

We Freeze Differently

We freeze fish in such a way that you have meat at home with a quality almost indistinguishable from that shortly after being caught. Fishing takes place on small fishing boats that go out to sea in the morning and return in the evening, which is why our fish are portioned, packed, and frozen within 24 hours of being caught. This avoids the depletion of marine ecosystems and the waste of so-called "unsuitable catches," as happens when freezing on large floating factories that stay at sea for days or weeks.

No Added Water

We do not need to artificially increase the weight of products by adding water to the muscle tissue of frozen fish. You can recognise such fish by the first taste; as soon as the water is released during thermal processing, you are left with tasteless meat.

The only (and only acceptable) form of water content in frozen foods is a protective glaze. This is applied to the surface of fish or seafood (typically, for example, shrimp) and thus protects the fish from freezer burn. This protective layer ranges between 5-20% and must always be stated in the product's ingredients! Therefore, if the fish is not vacuum-packed, water in the form of a protective glaze is actually desirable for maintaining quality.

I am grateful that Boxxi exists because it gives me the opportunity to buy fish from a source I trust to be sustainably sourced, healthy, and beneficial. I only worry that they might have to close down again. That would be a great shame. I think there are few fish shops that care about ecology. Very few.
Great tuna, great salmon. Both went into sushi, part (the tuna) into tartare. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. And the shop service? Perfect, helpful, advised on thawing. I'll be coming here; I'm glad such shops exist. Big thumbs up.
