Striploin steak Ayrshire Cacao-Fed – a chocolate touch from the North
The striploin steak comes from the short loin in the rear back and is one of the most popular steak cuts for its balance of tenderness, juiciness and intense flavour. This particular cut comes from a heifer of the Ayrshire breed, raised freely on the pastures of Finland, in a clean environment, without the use of hormones or antibiotics.
The cattle are grass-fed and in the last three months before slaughter, they are fed cocoa beans – this gives the meat a darker colour, an unmistakable aroma and a delicate hint of chocolate that every gourmet will appreciate. The meat is dry-aged for 30–40 days, which guarantees perfect tenderness and enhanced flavour.
Slight marbling, distinct fat cover and juiciness make striploin an ideal steak for grilling or pan-frying. Just add salt, pepper and a knob of butter – and you'll experience the unexpected.
