A wine from the winery's golden collection. The wine is aged for fourteen months in new acacia wood barrels (otherwise known as black locust tree, acacia, which imparts a yellow colour and has a different tannin profile than oak, has long been part Austrian winemaking tradition and is increasingly being adopted in California and elsewhere). This is a hefty, opulent wine with a golden-yellow colour whose aroma brings to mind honeycomb. The flavour is full, creamy, and enduring.
The Mikulice Winery was established in 1993, making use of the experience of several generations of the family in working with wine. Thanks to the fabulous orientation of the vineyards which decorate the best situated expanses of South Moravia's Greater Pavlovice region, the winery is able to focus on the production of original wines with the aim of bringing out the best quality and regional characteristics of their various wine varieties.
The winery tends to around 13,500 vines stretching over 4 hectares. White and red wines are cultivated in more or less equal measure. Petr Mikulica makes his wine in a purpose-built cellar using a range of modern technologies in addition to aged Bordeaux-style barrique casks.
