The basis of quality is ecological and sustainable farming using the clean arctic ocean around Iceland. The fish are fed only high-quality food without growth hormones and other additives. The fillets are processed by hand.

Is fresh fish really fresh?

In our country, you can traditionally and safely buy fresh freshwater fish that do not need to be imported to us. You can buy them right on the day of the catch, or watch the catch from the vat directly on the street or in the store before Christmas. That way you know how much time has passed since the catch. For sea fish, the journey to us is a bit more complicated, it is often a struggle against time, which is often bypassed by freezing and thawing the raw material for sale.

At Boxxi, we understand quality fish and their journey, which is why you will find the date of catch on the label of our truly fresh salmon. You are therefore sure that a quality product has reached your table, in addition to a carefully monitored temperature chain.

We recommend processing fresh salmon within 24 hours of delivery. If you want to enjoy the pure taste of Icelandic salmon, but don't have time to process it, order our deep-frozen salmon. In Boxxi quality and without added water. Move it from the freezer to the refrigerator the day before (ideally in the evening). In the morning it will be as good as fresh.

About origin

Arnarlax Fishery breeds Arctic salmon at six locations at three discrete fjords. Following each breeding cycle, these locations are given time to “rest” in order to permit the regeneration of the natural conditions for the next generation of salmon. Spawn from native breeding grounds swim in free-flowing waters fed by the adjacent springs whose untouched Arctic water has been filtered through lava fields for centuries.
